CULIACÁN._ The strength and drive that characterizes the judokas of Mazatlán became evident in the state stage of the Conade 2024 National Games, where the discipline won seven gold medals, seven silver and nine bronze medals, in the competitions held at the María del Rosario Espinoza Gymnasium of the High Performance Center.
Coach José Manuel Núñez Gutiérrez thanked the Mazatlán Municipal Sports Institute for its support in terms of training, such as the upcoming attendance of three trainers at the XIV National Technical Judo Congress, which will take place from February 22 to 25; On the other hand, he highlighted the growth of the discipline in the last year, especially in the women’s branch.
“The balance is simple, we took 15 passes to the Macro Regional, with great progress compared to 2023; If I had to highlight something it would be the discipline of the men and the hard work on the tatami of the women, going one-on-one with the Culiacán fighters; I also want to recognize the work of all the coaches and assistants: professional, synchronized and with a lot of planning,” said Núñez Gutiérrez.
It should be remembered that last year a total of 12 medals were achieved, as well as six passes to the next stage of Conade, so the performance of the judo team practically doubled in the 2024 tournaments.
