In his most notable comments since trade rumors began circulating around his name in recent years, Mike Trout said Monday that he has no intention of asking for a trade at this time, but he couldn’t rule out that possibility in the future.
Speaking on the first day of training with the full Angels roster, Trout revealed that he has spoken with owner Arte Moreno and management about his situation and is currently happy with it.
Trout, who has a clause that allows him to veto any trade, remains under contract through 2030 after signing a 12-year, $426.5 million deal before the 2019 season.

The three-time American League MVP and 11-time All-Star has made the playoffs just once with the Angels since his debut in 2011 – and the team was swept by the Royals in the AL Division Series. 2014 All-American — and it’s natural to wonder if he’d want to play anywhere else. But Trout, 32, believes winning with the Angels would be more satisfying than jumping ship.
Trout acknowledged that his injuries have been a disruptive factor in recent years, as he was limited to 36 games in 2021, 119 in 2022 and 82 last year.
