Pejic leaves Rapid for Serbia

SK Rapid has yet to report a departure after the transfer deadline in the Admiral Bundesliga. Midfielder Aleksa Pejic is leaving the Viennese team and moving to his home country of Serbia to the current third-placed team TSC Backa Topola. Rapid announced this on Thursday. In the previous season, his first in Hütteldorf, Pejic was still a regular player for a large part. The 24-year-old was no longer used by the professionals this season after injury problems.

Pejic moved from Shakhtar Soligorsk from Belarus to Rapid in the summer of 2022. He played 36 competitive games for the Green-Whites and didn’t score a single goal. In the summer, the defensive midfielder was kept out of action for a long time due to pubic bone inflammation.

“He always behaved professionally for us and was a valued team member even when he wasn’t working,” emphasized Rapids Sports Managing Director Markus Katzer. “Since we have a very good staff in his position, a transfer was the best decision for everyone involved.”
