Over the weekend just ended, the qualifying matches for the Italian Cadet Judo Championships took place in Montelepre. Among the numerous clubs present also the Provincial Judo Club by Maestro Carmelo Mendolia. Dario Beccore, Domenico Cavò and Rita Palmieri took to the tatami to represent the Peloritan colours.
Excellent performance by athlete Dario Beccore who took 1st place in the 46 kg. winning two matches before the limit, thus obtaining qualification for the final of the Italian Cadet A2 Championships which will take place on February 24th in Policoro.
Domenico Cavò and Rita Palmieri both obtained 4th place which bodes well for the future but at the moment it does not grant the pass to access the final.
On the same day the first stage of the Sicily Cup took place for the athletes of the Novice A class in which the athletes participated: Giorgia D’Emilio Kg.57 who took 1st place by winning 4 fights before the limit, Saverio Lo Presti Kg. 45, three matches played obtaining a good 4th place in the ranking and Paolo Aricò Kg.50 still ranked 4th with two matches played.
The technical teachers are satisfied with the commitment shown and the results obtained considering the fact that for some it was their first competition.
