In a 198.9 kilometer race that started in Mora de Rubielos and ended in Ares del Maestrat, Rigo suffered a terrible fall and had to withdraw from the competition.

“That fall was very complicated and very difficult because of what happened. It didn’t look so serious at the beginning. The fall was not seen (on TV). This is a machine, the race continues. Then he continued his story: “I was in too much pain and I asked the doctor for morphine, because the pain was incredible. We arrived at the clinic, they did the x-ray and they told me ‘clavicle and your shoulder blade is a little messed up.’ high, which is why Michelle wants me to return to Monaco so that a friend can operate on me”:

But everything got complicated: “That’s what we were going to do. When I get to the clinic they start doing tests on me and several doctors arrive. They tell me ‘you have an exploded lung, you have seven ribs and your scapula is in pieces.’ That day I got to get on the plane, that’s how far I would have gone. I don’t know why they didn’t see the lung, I had three ribs that had pierced my lung.”

“Michelle arrives very desperate and an ordeal begins. 20 days pass in which they cannot operate on me, because the surgery was long. It was something terrible,” said the rider.
