“Congratulations to Reggio Emilia and the coaching staff for the extraordinary image they have given of themselves and the basketball lesson they have given us. It’s not the first time this season and not just against us. I think today we have lost more of our identity and personality than the basketball game. You can miss a shot or a pass, you can make a mistake, but without personality you won’t go anywhere.
The responsibility is mine as I am the coach of this team and after this evening I will have a lot of work to do with our players. First of all, a team that talks too much with the referees is a weak team, it’s not part of our job. Getting two technical fouls and an expulsion is a disgrace for the image of a team like Reyer Venezia. This is not the Reyer culture, it is not my philosophy.
So we take this defeat home, but we move forward by working together. I have never left players alone and never will. Life is like this: what you need is to understand why you lost, not why you won.”
