Tap in Celebrates 40 Years of Rimini Basketball Coverage

Tap in celebrates his first 40 years chasing the ball in segments on his paper parquet.
Born from an idea by Alberto Crescentini, the doyen of Rimini sports journalists, Tap in is the periodical that recounts the exploits of Rimini basketball.
The debut on the steps of the Flaminio sports hall in Rimini took place on 5 February 1984 during the match of the surprising Marr who received the visit of Benetton Treviso. The result did not favor the red and whites 75-75 after extra time, but at the end of the season the team of Maurizio Benatti and Ernestone Wansley with a certain “Topone” Pasini on the bench achieved promotion to Serie A1, while more and more loud the cry: “Marr, Marr superstar”.

Forty years later, Rinascita Basket Rimini had to face Fortitudo Agrigento in the first round of the A2 tournament, and in the old palace the ‘basketball newspaper’ is still there, with the same objectives as always, that is, “to accompany the spectator to the match, let him pass – we hope pleasantly – those 15-30 minutes before the awaited tap-off” says the “Cresc”, who is still the soul of the newspaper, a little excited.
Four decades close to Rimini basketball, even if the title changed a couple of times (Uno Tre Uno, Crabs News) before returning to the original, which is the one the editorial team is most fond of.
For many seasons owner and publisher of Tap in it is the Rimini weekly ilPonte which with its editorial team takes care of the packaging and distribution (always free and in thousands of copies) in meeting places, clubs and gyms throughout the province of Rimini.

Since its birth, Tap in has always accompanied the exploits of the historic Fip code 000122, identifier of Basket Rimini, while continuing to ply the parquets of Rimini describing the characters, teams and exploits of the minors of the provincial basketball.
At the age of 40, Tap in he is in better shape than ever and is preparing to take to the pitch once again on Thursday 8 February to “keep interest in the ball alive in our territory, from the top level to the varied panorama of the minors” assures Giovanni Tonelli, director of ilPonte and a great basketball fan (you can regularly find him on the steps of the Flaminio cheering on the red and whites).

Issue no. was released on Thursday 8 February. 12 of the 2023-24 season, as always full of images (thanks to Alfio Sgroi), statistics, interviews and information. At the helm of the periodical there is no shortage of columns: from books on basketball to Rimini basketball players around Italy to telling the deeds of the characters who have made – and make – the history of Rimini basketball, perhaps behind the scenes.

Tap in it is distributed free of charge in Rimini and the province (newsstands, gyms, bars, commercial activities, etc.) and at the Flaminio sports hall during the home matches of Rinascita Basket Rimini.
Tap in it is also a Facebook page (tapinbasket/).

With the hope of being able to continue to follow the events of the red and whites and the patched ball of Rimini and its province for many years to come.
