The 2024 NBA Slam Dunk Contest Line-Up Revealed: Jaylen Brown, Mac McClung, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Jacob Toppin

With about ten days until All-Star Weekend, information on the various competitions continues to pour in. Since last night, we have known the full line-up for the 2024 Slam Dunk Contest.

4 dunkers but only one trophy at the end, such is the rule at the Slam Dunk Contest and we now know the names of the challengers for the annual statuette thanks to Shams Charania from The Athletic.

The first news is the confirmation of Jaylen Brown’s participation in the competition. The Jay Brother is an excellent dunker but above all he brings a bit of All-Star vibes to the event while the big names in the League have tended to skip the competition for (too) many years now.

To accompany him, we unsurprisingly find Mac McClung, reigning champion who had announced his intention to defend his trophy after a high-level competition last year. Jaime Jaquez Jr., the brilliant rookie of the Heat, will try to expand his personal record in his first season in the NBA. Finally, a little surprise with Jacob Toppin! If the name and face are familiar to you, it is simply because he is the little brother of Obi Toppin, Indiana player and winner of the competition in 2022. Jacob Toppin is under contract with the Knicks but his time on the courts came down to three ends of the match. This is a golden opportunity for him to gain a little light and make a (first) name for himself.
