September 2, 2023, a huge convention center adjacent to the Westgate Las Vegas, famous as the hotel associated with Elvis Presley. At this venue, where over 8,000 Jiu-Jitsu practitioners had gathered, Yoshinari Fukushima, one of the members of the comedy duo “Galitchuu,” was about to begin a match.
“I lost a lot of work due to the coronavirus, so I went to see a quintet (group martial arts team competition) to see if there was anything I could do, and I thought I might be able to do jiu-jitsu or grappling.”
Fukushima entered the Triforce Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Ikebukuro on November 23, 2021. While he is active as a comedian, he practices diligently before competitions five or six times a week, which is more than a hobby.
