«Unfortunately these are television times»- Corriere.it

For skier and world champion Federica Brignone, guest at the Sanremo Festival, “skiing is music, and a lot of adrenaline”. After a brief exchange with Marco Mengoni and Amadeus – the former admitted that he had never skied, the latter made the champion promise to at least teach him how to snowplow – Brignone introduced Loredana Bertè together with the co-host, then left her the stage. A few minutes, also important for promoting skiing in view of the Milan-Cortina Olympics. But one detail sparked a controversy, which was quickly quelled by the skier’s manager. The reason has to do with the electronic “prompter”, visible in the room: on the text, as noted by some people present at the Ariston, there were also greetings for Sofia Goggia, who has recently suffered a serious injury during training, resulting in a fracture of the tibia and malleolus. But Brignone did not utter those words.

The sporting rivalry between Goggia and Brignone has led some to imagine that the champion’s omission on the Ariston stage was deliberate. But, contacted by Adnkronos, Brignone’s manager, Giulia Mancini, strongly denied it, assuring her that it was only a “time problem”. “Unfortunately they didn’t even let her speak”, she said, “unfortunately these are television times”. In fact, the champion, who arrived on stage with a ski helmet in her hand, did not even mention the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics. At a certain point she gave the impression of wanting to speak, but she was preceded by Mengoni. And shortly thereafter, as mentioned, Bertè was introduced, and the champion left the stage with Mengoni and Amadeus.
