Andrea Bergamelli, a plumber from Bergamo with a passion for motorbikes, died in Valencia during the rehearsals of one amateur race. The accident occurred last Saturday in Ricardo Tormo Circuit and involved three other motorbikes. From the information reported by the Spanish circuit through an official statement via social media, the 35-year-old was involuntarily hit by other participants and after the fall he was immediately rescued and taken to the medical centre.
According to what the Corriere della Sera, Bergamelli and other motorcyclists were traveling on the straight when a first fall generated others, also involving the Italian rider. Attempts to resuscitate him were futile and he died shortly after in the emergency room. The 35-year-old had left Spain with his own motorcycle and his partner Lucia was ready to join him by plane. The two were supposed to return on February 12th. Among the many friends who also remember him Massimiliano, with whom he played five-a-side football to the Aragonese San Paolo d’Argon. “I live near his house, we used to play together. He was happy because he had managed to take a few days off to go to Valencia, motorbikes were his great passion. Andrea has always been a very active person both at work and in the various sports he practiced. In addition to football and motorbikes, in fact he rode a bicycle and liked to take long walks” states the friend.
