Vītola reaps laurels at the luge World Cup stage in Sigulda

Berzins made the trip in 41.685 seconds, ahead of American Ashley Farkerson, who completed the course in 41.715 seconds, and Aparjodi, who finished in 41.750 seconds.

The fourth place is taken by the German Jūlija Taubica (41.757), the fifth by the Austrian Liza Šulte (41.774) and the sixth by another Latvian athlete Elīna Ieva Vītola (41.779), who was two hundredths of a second ahead of the German Anna Berreiter and 31 thousandths of a second ahead of the Austrian Madeleini Egli.

The 14th place after the first run is taken by Zane Kaluma, who covered the track in 41.949 seconds.

Two athletes experienced falls.

In the second run, Vitola achieved the third best result and two runs to the winner Berreiter, who had the fastest run, 0.018 seconds behind.

Berreiter finished in one minute and 23.405 seconds, while the third place was taken by the German athlete Taubica, who achieved the fifth result in the race, who lost to her teammate by 0.081 seconds.

Vitola admitted live on TV channel LTV7 that she wanted to make more free rides, but in the second race she made a little mistake in the last corner.
