Bayern get rid of their frustration against Mainz. The Munich team sent ex-FCZ coach Bo Henriksen (49) home with an 8-1 score. Outstanding man of the match? Clipper Harry Kane (30). With his hat trick, the Englishman breaks several records. The third goal in the 70th minute was also the 30th goal of his debut season; only HSV legend Uwe Seeler (1936-2022) has achieved this in the 1963/64 season.

It was also the eighth game in which Kane scored at least two goals and the fourth hat-trick in his first Bundesliga season. No other player in the Bundesliga has achieved both before.

Will Kane break Lewandowski’s record?

But there is still one record to be broken: Lewandowski’s 41 goals from the 2020/21 season, which is also a league record. Kane still has nine games left. With an average of 1.2 goals per game it will be tight, but it is doable.

While Kane and Co. are celebrating the goal gala, another Bayern player is worried about the position of his teeth. Alphonso Davies (23) is hit in the face by Nati defender and Mainz captain Silvan Widmer (31) in the 17th minute and is substituted.

“Teeth were crooked”

«Things aren’t looking good for Phonzie. A few of his teeth were crooked. That’s why he’s at the dentist. We hope it’s not that bad,” said coach Tuchel (50) after the game. A splint should now save the damaged teeth.

Tuchel himself is struggling with an injury – which apparently brings luck! With his broken toe, Bayern suddenly dominate: 3-0 against Lazio and now 8-1 against Mainz.

Annoyed Kimmich causes laughter

Joshua Kimmich (29) is placed at the back right. It’s no secret that the German prefers to play in midfield. After the demonstration of power, Kimmich was asked about the position once again and replied: “I was annoyed by this question recently. I don’t understand. Is that really worth a headline anymore?”

The reporters and Kimmich then had to laugh, but the Bayern player then said that he generally felt comfortable on the pitch. He just doesn’t want to play in the goalkeeper position. (jsl)
