Over the weekend, the qualifiers for the Italian Junior Judo Championships took place in Montelepre. Among the companies present also l‘ASD PROVINCIAL JUDO CLUB of the master CArmelo Mendolia.
The young one Rita Palmieri obtained second place in the 70 kg category. Thanks to the result and the two matches played, he obtained qualification for the finals valid for the Italian Junior Championships which will take place in Leinì (To) on 17 March.
On the same day the first stage of the Sicily Cup took place for the athletes of the Beginners B class in which the athlete again participated for the Peloritana club Simone Lombardo. Competed in the 38 kg category, he took 3rd place by losing one match and winning another which allowed him to get on the podium and win the bronze medal.
Results that bode well for the technical ideas demonstrated by both athletes.
