Guatemala. AVIA announced the opening of its most recent area, the Pickleball court, located in Plaza Luna. Pickleball, a dynamic sport that combines elements of tennis, paddle tennis, badminton and table tennis, comes to AVIA as an exciting option for the local community and visitors alike.
Pickleball is a paddle sport that has captured the attention of people of all ages around the world. “At AVIA, we are not just presenting a place to play, but a destination that promotes fun, physical activity and community. The Pickleball court is located at Plaza Luna 11 Calle, with capacity for 2-player singles or 4-player doubles matches with a special space designated for spectators to enjoy the matches. “It is the first time that a sports space is integrated into AVIA, it is an effort to offer a different entertainment environment that merges sports within a lifestyle community,” Martínez added.
The court will be available indefinitely, offering the opportunity to enjoy the sport for anyone, including minors who are under the supervision of an adult. To practice this sport, it is necessary to wear appropriate clothing and footwear, as well as reserve the court and make the corresponding payment through the AVIA website.
AVIA will also offer rental equipment that includes 2 rackets and 2 balls for Q100. Players can bring their own equipment if they wish and the cost for one hour of court use is Q200, with the possibility of 2 to 4 people playing in that time.
“Security is a priority at AVIA, the Pickleball court is located within our facilities, with 24-hour security personnel, ample illuminated parking and security control cameras. A daily cleaning and disinfection protocol is implemented to keep the court and equipment in optimal conditions,” said María José Zamora, Marketing and Advertising Manager of AVIA.
It is planned to implement classes and training sessions for those interested in learning or improving their Pickleball skills. There will be certified instructors and options for larger and corporate groups.
