Ben Simmons Battles Injuries and Setbacks: A Career in Turmoil.

Ben Simmons’ career has stopped being played against rivals on the court. The one who was number one in the 2016 Draft is now fighting a particular fight against injuries and his own ghosts. For years, especially since his arrival in Brooklyn, the Australian has suffered from constant back problems that prevent him from enjoying any continuity. Simmons has had a recurrence of his lower back pain and, for now, will miss tonight’s game between the Nets and Grizzlies.

A pinched nerve is to blame for your ailments. The same inconvenience that kept him off the slopes for more than two months this year. Simmons did not play a single game between November 8, 2023 and January 29. Right now there are no known estimates regarding the length of time he will be out.

Beyond the back

They are not the only problems Simmons has faced since his abrupt departure from the Philadelphia Sixers. The headaches with his back began to repeat themselves since he arrived at the Nets. Where he had to wait for the start of a new season to make his debut. From then on, the point guard has been far from the level that led him to be All-NBA and All-Defense, developing a worrying lack of aggressiveness in a player who lacks shooting. In two years in the Big Apple, Simmons has only played 57 games, averaging 6.7 points, 6 assists and 6.7 rebounds. Which in Philly rose to 15.9, 7.7 and 8.1.
