Hanoi (VNA) – The Ciputra Hanoi-Yonex Sunrise 2024 international badminton tournament opened on March 12 in Hanoi, bringing together 310 players from 19 countries and territories.
Players compete in five categories: men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles. The first prize in each category will receive a bonus of 1,200 dollars.
The tournament, organized by the Hanoi Culture and Sports Department and the Vietnam Badminton Federation, is part of the competition and scoring system of the International Badminton Federation (BWF). It continues until March 17.
Among the international athletes participating in the tournament are Rhustavito Shesar Hiren (Indonesia, ranked 76th in the world in men’s singles), Shetty Ayush (India, 78th in the world in men’s singles), Sim Yu-jin (Republic of Korea, 39th in the world in women’s singles) and Letsthana Karupahthevan (Malaysia, 55th in the world in women’s singles). -VNA
