“Unfortunately, we didn’t do well in the middle 20 minutes,” lamented the disappointed Kometa coach Jaroslav Modrý. “At the same time, we entered the match decently in a fantastic setting, but we conceded a meaningless first goal. Our confidence went down after that. And after the first break, the skillful and creative attackers of Litvínov punished our mistakes,” he was annoyed.
According to him, the people of Brno were acting too complicated. “We need to simplify and streamline our game. We will analyze a few things and prepare as best we can for the away duels,” Modrý planned.

Dominik Furch, who was one of the mainstays of the Kometa hockey players in the regular season, did not finish the second Brno game. After conceding the third goal, he gave up his place in goal to Štěpán Lukeš in the middle of the match. “We wanted to give the team a new impetus,” the coach explained the decision. Modrý could not use defender Jan Ščotka in the match, who received a three-game suspension from the disciplinary committee for a foul on Lithuania’s Michal Gut in the opening game of the series.
“I don’t want to comment on the punishment. We have other players in the squad who have to replace the missing guys,” he claimed.

Brno striker Jakub Flek regretted that he did not convert a huge chance in the opening goalless situation when he drove himself to the Lithuanian goalkeeper Matej Tomek. “He remained standing and I sent the puck into his prepared catcher. If I had scored, the match would probably have turned out differently. At that moment Matej was better than me. I take it upon myself,” he scolded.
He was sorry for the cheap goals in the Brno net. “We got most of them because of our inconsistency in the front goal area. We have to avoid that next time,” Flek was clear.

Kometa scored only one goal in both home matches. “It’s a bit frustrating, but we mustn’t think negatively. Now we have to find a recipe to win in Litvínov and bring the quarterfinals back to us. Nothing is far from lost. Until the streak is over, we’ll leave everything on ice,” Flek breathed.
