During the past holidays, the gymnastics all-around events of the Cup of the Republic of Latvia took place in Riga, as well as the championship in individual all-around events. Spars sports school gymnasts showed excellent results.
Arturs Mihailovs won the cup for the 2nd place for the pre-juniors, while Elina Ābola won in this category for the girls, 4th, 6th, 8th. places Alice Grosberg, Daisy Rafelde and Darya Berestova. For juniors, Kristaps Grīnvalds completed the top six. For juniors, Anastasija Dakuzasvili took 16th place, Elana Aleksandra Sviķe did not participate in the competition due to a leg injury.
All the country’s strongest gymnasts took part in the women’s competition, and Anastasija Ananjeva from Riga won the cup. Anna Grauda-Grote, who returned from the World Cup in Baku just two days before the Cup, finished 24th in the vault and 53rd in the free movement. Anna mainly fought to reach the finals on the apparatus, finishing fifth in the all-around. In the finals, Anna managed to become the champion in parallel bars and balance beam, as well as finishing with a bronze medal in vaulting.
