The exhibition on sports and leisure presented by the Historical Society of La Tuque du Haut-Saint-Maurice gave rise to the loan of a very special object.

After hearing on the radio that the exhibition focused on sports and leisure from the beginning of the city until the 1950s, an O97.1 listener, Pierre Ménard, brought a magnificent catcher’s glove that was used by Latuquois Jean -Laurent Boutet, while he was in the 1939-1945 war. In his rare moments of respite, Mr. Boutet threw the ball with his comrades.

Jean-Laurent Boutet participated in two landings, during which his trusty glove followed him, including that of Normandy.

Mr. Menard had obtained the glove from Mr. Boutet, who was his neighbor in the chalet.

The glove is on display with many other objects and photos which are on display at the Félix-Leclerc Cultural Complex until April 27 as part of this exhibition.
