KAA Gent Targeting Besnik Hasi as Potential New Coach for Next Season

KAA Gent looks at the possibilities in the trainer landscape. The chance seems realistic that Hein Vanhaezebrouck will no longer be in the dugout next season. And the East Flemish people are targeting a coach who is guiding another Belgian first division team towards the Champions Play-Off.

Besnik Hasi is on the radar of KAA Gent. The former coach of RSC Anderlecht and Olympiacos Piraeus, among others, is currently doing very well at KV Mechelen. Even more: De Maneblussers seem on their way to a place in the Champions Play-Off.

“It is true that Ghent wants to do business with Hasi,” says Filip Joos 90Minutes. “What he is doing at Mechelen is impressive. It is true that he has been forgotten in recent years, but do not underestimate Besnik. He also made Anderlecht champions at the time.”

Hasi Achter De Kazerne’s contract expires at the end of the season. A few months ago, both parties chose not to enter into a long-term commitment with each other. It makes sure that From Buffalo’s can make their move.

Who will be the coach of KAA Gent next season?

The agreement between Ghent and Vanhaezebrouck will also end after this season. Although the East Flemish people have an option to add an extra year to it. In other words, there is a plan B in case a new coach is not found.
