NFL Offseason Training Set to Kick Off with Washington Commanders, Atlanta Falcons, and Los Angeles Chargers

Sports Editorial, March 29 (EFE).- Washington Commanders, Atlanta Falcons and Los Angeles Chargers are the teams that will open NFL offseason training next Tuesday, the professional American football league reported this Friday.

These off-season training sessions will be the first for the teams since the end of last season and will be divided into three phases.

In the first, non-veteran players and coaches will be limited to strength, conditioning and physical rehabilitation meetings and activities.

The second consists of three weeks in which training will include individual or group exercises, plays with offensive players lined up in front of offensive players and defense against defense. No contact exercises are allowed.

The third phase is made up of four weeks in which teams can perform seven-on-seven, nine-on-seven and 11-on-11 drills, still without physical contact.

This third part includes a camp for veteran players.

The Commanders, Chargers and Falcons will be followed by the Carolina Panthers, Tennessee Titans, New England Patriots and Seattle Seahwaks, who will begin training on April 8.

It will be the first time in the century that the Pats will begin the road to a season without the historic Bill Belichick – 71 years old – as head coach, who a few months ago was replaced in the position by Jerod Mayo.

Belichick, a future member of the NFL Hall of Fame, led the Pats from 2000 until last season, during which time he led them to nine Super Bowls, winning six, making the franchise the winningest of the Super Bowl era, along with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Seahawks will also face this return to activity without Pete Carroll, head coach who led them from 2010 to 2023, a stage in which he won a championship ring.

On April 15, the champions Kansas City Chiefs – current champions – and the San Francisco 49ers, contenders from Super Bowl LVIII on February 11, will return to activity, along with the rest of the teams.
