Cavallo became the world’s first openly gay professional footballer in 2021, earning praise across the sporting world and beyond for his decision to come out. Now he directs the question of all questions to his partner Leighton Morrell.

Cavallo published the pictures from the otherwise deserted Coopers Stadium on social media. “Mr & Mr Coming soon,” he writes underneath it – and quickly receives hundreds of thousands of likes and numerous comments. The Swiss national team player Ramona Bachmann (33) also left an emoji with heart eyes and a red heart under the post. She married her partner Charlotte Baret in Paris last summer. (AFP/bir)
