Question Marks for Xavi’s Replacement at Barcelona

Jakarta – Xavi Hernandez has decided to leave Barcelona. However, who the replacement coach will be is still a question mark.

So far there have been no strong rumors circulating about a replacement for Xavi at Barcelona. A number of names have emerged, such as Thiago Motta (Bologna), Hansi Flick (ex-Bayern Munich), and Rafael Marquez (Barcelona B), none of whom are really strong enough to be a replacement.

Reporting from detikSport, Barcelona’s Sports Director, Deco, admitted that his team had not yet started looking for a replacement for Xavi. He reasoned that currently he is still focused on completing the 2023/2024 season.

“We’re not talking about that because we’re not looking for a coach, it’s not time yet. The season isn’t finished yet. There are still many things waiting for us,” said Deco as reported by ESPN.

“First, we have to consider what project we want, know exactly what we can do, what kind of players we will have,” he continued.

According to Deco, the search for a replacement coach is difficult. He said that not many top coaches are currently unemployed.

“The majority of players want to stay. There are not many top level coaches on the market. The majority (coaches) have contracts, there will be a lot of movement, when the time comes, we will make the right decision. Now is not the time,” said Deco.
