Spanish Point Guard Juan Nunez Climbs in ESPN’s 2024 NBA Draft Rankings

Juan Nunez is the positive news for Spanish basketball in the latest publication of ESPN with the predictions of 2024 NBA Draft. The ratiopharm Ulm point guard has recovered positions and climbed three places compared to the last update.

The article, which highlights the presence of European players in the top positions -Zaccharie Risacher, Alex Sarr and Nikola Topic occupy positions 1, 2 and 4, respectively-, includes only the 25 best ‘prospects’. This means, therefore, that Juan Núñez is the only Spaniard who appears in this Draft forecast.

For now, the Spanish international has risen from 28th to 25th place surpassing Izan Almansa and recovering the position with which he began the season.

This is what draft guru Jonathan Givony details about Juan Núñez:

«Núñez has shown no signs of slowing down as the season has progressed and continues to claim himself as the best passer in this draft thanks to the way he can manipulate defenses with high-level pick-and-roll reads. There aren’t many NBA players who display the kind of vision and creativity he has on the ball, which has complemented his finishing, defense and scoring ability very well on a competitive team that has won quite a few games in the EuroCup and in the German BBL. Núñez’s lack of explosiveness and his irregularity in shooting (31% in triples, 64% in free throws) make him a player who presents uncertainty for most NBA teams, but he has the flexibility that he can play on a Euroleague team next year, which could be interesting for the many teams that have several picks.
