Liverpool had to wait until the last moment to get a win over Nottingham Forest. A dramatic win makes three points feel special.
Liverpool narrowly won 1-0 when they visited The City Ground, Saturday (2/3/2024) evening WIB, in the continuation of the Premier League. The match was tough and Liverpool only broke the deadlock in the 99th minute through Darwin Nunez’s header.
This victory illustrates the tenacity and hard work of Juergen Klopp’s troops, who were troubled by Forest’s disciplined defense. For the record, Liverpool fired a total of 22 shots but only two were on target.

Nunez’s dramatic goal felt even more important considering Liverpool were currently chasing Manchester City and Arsenal at the top of the standings. Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister said moments like this were special.
“This is a special day for us. Winning like this is not easy. We have come to a difficult place,” he was quoted as saying by the BBC.
“At that moment I knew the situation was the last minute and I just had to send the ball into the penalty box. Darwin is an important player for us.”
“There are no easy games in the Premier League. So we are very, very happy. It’s three points, we move on to Thursday.”
“We always have a positive attitude. The team leaders keep the team very positive. We are a good team, we have fun players on and off the pitch,” added the player from Argentina.
