Regarding the suspension, the Reds showed their support for the disciplinary measure applied by the MLB to the 22-year-old player.

“The Reds support Major League Baseball’s anti-doping policy and its sanctions. We will not make any further comment on the matter,” the team said in a statement this Friday.

Marte debuted last season in the Major Leagues, a level where he achieved a batting average of .316, with seven doubles and three home runs, which he adorned with 15 runs scored and the same number of RBIs in 35 games.

This performance positioned Marte as one of the favorites to occupy a place in the Reds’ infield for the campaign that begins on March 28.
