A drastic change in the lives of Pascal Braeckman and his wife An: they recently started taking care of their daughter’s children as foster grandparents. They do this to offer them stability.
At their age that is not obvious. An has put her job on hold to care for the children full-time. Pascal has therefore become the sole breadwinner in the house. “Otherwise we won’t even be able to raise them anymore,” he says in Primo.
The change not only has a major impact on their home situation and their finances, but also on their relationship. Previously, it often happened that Pascal and An both had a day off. “Then we tried to do something fun as a couple, but that is no longer possible,” it sounds.
Fortunately, there are some people where they can drop the children off every now and then, so that they can still have some quality time. “Sometimes I really need that rest, especially after a hectic day of shooting. But that’s not possible, because it quickly becomes ‘boompa, boompa, boompa’,” he laughs.
