Antony has angered himself with his cheering after Manchester United’s FA Cup semi-final escape. The Red Devils ultimately only settled with Coventry City, which is eighth in the Championship, after a penalty shootout.

Manchester United took a 0-3 lead against Coventry City after an hour of play thanks to goals from Scott McTominay, Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes. However, out of nowhere, Coventry came back to 3-3 in the last half hour.

Deep into extra time, Coventry saw the winning goal disallowed, resulting in a penalty shootout. That series was won 2-4 by Manchester United.

After Rasmus Højlund hit the winning penalty against the ropes, the euphoria among manager Erik ten Hag’s team was only logical. Antony, who had come on as a substitute in the 66th minute with a 0-3 lead, addressed the Coventry supporters after his team’s win.

The Sky Blues fans were sitting on the opposite side of where the penalty shootout was being taken. According to Manchester Evening News journalist Tyrone Marshall, Antony put his hand over his ears towards Coventry supporters, trying to silence them.

The action was in stark contrast to captain Harry Maguire, who shook hands with his opponents as a show of appreciation.
