SANTO DOMINGO. The Social Improvement Neighborhood (Bameso) took first overall place in the “Primera Fuerza 2024” judo tournament held last Sunday at the National Judo House of the Olympic Center.
The contest, in its first version, had a dedication to the immortals of judo, engineer Juan Chalas Jiménez, Radhamés Lora Salcedo and Vicbart Geraldino Roselló.
Second place went to the representation of the San Pedro Judo Club, while the Santo Domingo Province was awarded the third place trophy.
Sensei Ivette Michel received the first dan black belt.
Among the most outstanding athletes of the contest were Ángel Batista, in the 31 kilos for children A, who won a gold medal, as well as Karla Ureña, in the 48 kilos for children B; Jeancoly Javier, in 50 kilos cadet, and Diego Marte, 90 kilos in cadet.
Ivette Michel, founder and coach of Judo Bameso, and Alberto Castro, president of the Bameso Club, reported that certificates of participation were delivered to each of the participating athletes, while they had words of gratitude to the Mothers’ Association, headed by Mrs. Xiomara Di Carlo, for the great support for the success of the contest.
At the opening ceremony, the directors of Judo Bameso gave recognition to the immortals of judo for their sporting career and their contributions to the development of that discipline, as well as to the School’s Mothers Association, they honored Mr. Ángel Serrulle and Mrs. Claudia. You ride.
The main objective of the Bameso Judo club is to educate children and young people in moral, sporting, and educational values in order to provide useful men and women to society in addition to strengthening families.
Delegations from the clubs, Judo Naco, Judo UASD, participated in the tournament; Matsunaga Doyo, Casa Nacional, Club San Pedro, Club Hatillo, Club Figueroa Doyo, Club Fesacama, and as a special guest the province of Santo Domingo, among others.
