Barça sanctioned by UEFA for the racist behavior of its supporters

Two days after its elimination by PSG in the quarter-finals of the Champions League (3-2, 1-4), FC Barcelona was fined Thursday with a fine of 25,000 euros by UEFA for “behavior racist of his supporters” during the first leg, on April 10, at the Parc des Princes.

Two Barça supporters were also arrested that day, accused of “apology for war crimes and public insult of a racist nature”. The Paris police headquarters reported on X “FC Barcelona supporters present at the Parc des Princes seen making monkey cries and Nazi salutes”. One of them, suspected of having made monkey cries, was released without prosecution, the investigations having not made it possible to characterize the facts. The other, suspected of having made Nazi salutes, was also released and will be summoned again for a hearing on these facts “likely to be qualified as an apology for a crime” on a date which has not been specified. , depending on the prefecture.

Barça was also banned from selling tickets for its supporters to travel to its next match in a UEFA competition, a sanction carried with a one-year reprieve from the decision.
