UEFA revealed on Tuesday the list of referees who will officiate during Euro 2024 (June 14-July 14). Two French people were selected: François Letexier and Clément Turpin. The first, named best referee in L1 in 2022-2023, will discover this competition, at the age of 34. The second had already participated in the 2016 and 2021 editions.
Benoît Bastien and Stéphanie Frappart, considered to participate in the Euro, were therefore not selected. The latter, the only female main referee in 2021, nevertheless seemed to have every chance of being called: UEFA had notably expressed its intention to select two women for the Euro organized in Germany.
