Daniel Vallejo Makes History as Youngest Paraguayan Tennis Player to Win Challenger Title

The paraguayan Daniel Vallejo (No. 472 in the ATP ranking) is 19 years old and came to make history: He became the youngest tennis player from his country to win a Challenger title.

Vallejo took the trophy in Sao Leopoldoafter beating Liam Draxl (No. 257) in the first round, to Genaro Olivieri (No. 185) in the round of 16, to Orlando Luz (No. 371) in the quarterfinals, to Felipe Meligeni Alves (No. 134) in the semifinals now Enzo Couacaud (No. 231) in the grand final.

The former junior world No. 1 became the sixth tennis player born in 2004 to win a title in the categoryafter Luca Van Assche, Arthur Fils, Alex Michelsen, Gonzalo Bueno and Henrique Rocha.
