Emma Raducanu won against Caroline Garcia

Raducanu already had her back against the wall in her match against Caroline Garcia. Because Katie Boulter had to admit defeat to Diane Parry surprisingly clearly with 2:6 and 0:6. The 2021 US Open champion made up for a slow start, beating Garcia 3:6, 6:3 and 6:2.

Japan and Australia have already qualified for the finals in autumn. The Japanese, to whom Naomi Osaka contributed a point yesterday, have an unassailable 3-0 lead against Kazakhstan after Nao Hibino’s win against Yulia Putintseva. Australia had no problems at all with Mexico and can already plan a trip to Seville in November.

Things are also looking good for Germany and the USA. The Germans are leading 2-0 in Brazil after wins by Laura Siegemund and Tatjana Maria, as are the Americans against Belgium. However, both Jessica Pegula and Emma Navarro had to go through three sets.

And Iga Swiatek also shows up again at the Billie Jean King Cup (and gets her playing qualification for the Olympics). Swiatek won safely against Simona Walter 6:3 and 6:1. After Magdalena Frech’s three-set win against Celine Naef, Poland also goes into the second day with a 2-0 lead.
