The referees Daniel Siebert (39) and Felix Zwayer (42) will represent the German Football Association (DFB) at the upcoming home European Championships.

The two referees were nominated by UEFA on Tuesday (April 23, 2024) for the tournament (June 14 to July 14). A total of 18 referees and their teams are available for the 51 games. A woman was not called.

Siebert is contesting his third major tournament; the teacher had previously refereed games at the 2021 European Championships and the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Zwayer is celebrating his debut on the big stage.

Dankert, Dingert and Fritz in the VAR team

There are three German referees in the VAR team: Bastian Dankert, Christian Dingert and Marco Fritz. As with the last EURO and as part of the cooperation between UEFA and the South American association CONMEBOL, Facundo Tello (Argentina) and his two assistants will “complement the European refereeing group at the final tournament in Germany”, as UEFA announced.

“All selected referees have consistently performed at the highest level in UEFA’s top competitions and also in their domestic competitions,” said Roberto Rosetti, UEFA’s managing director of refereeing: “They have prepared exceptionally well for this position and we have full confidence in them, that they will prove their quality in the finals.”
