FC Bayern will face Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday. When it comes to the line-up, coach Thomas Tuchel has decided – and is surprising.
Update from April 27th, 2:24 p.m.: There is the FC Bayern line-up! Completely surprisingly, Jamal Musiala is not in the squad. On Friday, Tuchel made it clear that the 21-year-old would start. According to the club, Musiala will be spared. Mathys Tel also only sits on the bench on his 19th birthday.

Bayern line-up against Eintracht Frankfurt
Neuer – Kimmich, de Ligt, Dier, Mazraoui – Goretzka, Laimer – Müller, Choupo-Moting, Guerreiro – Kane
Update from April 27th, 1:59 p.m.: One thing is already certain, and that is that Dayot Upamecano and Leroy Sané will not be available against Eintracht. Just like Bouna Sarr, Sacha Boey, Tarek Buchmann and Kingsley Coman. As for Serge Gnabry, it is not yet clear whether he will be used. The Madrid game on Tuesday would be more important.
Update from April 27th, 1:30 p.m.: In just under an hour we will know how Thomas Tuchel will send his FC Bayern into the game. The first information has already leaked. One can assume that Jamal Musiala and Eric Dier will definitely start.
Manuel Neuer also no longer has any problems with his adductors and should be in the starting line-up. It will be exciting to see how the central midfield is filled. Leon Goretzka, Aleksandar Pavlovic and Konrad Laimer are available. And what about Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting? He was convinced against Union, so can he also play against Eintraacht?
Lineup against Frankfurt: Will Tuchel put Müller on the bench again? First information leaked
Update from April 26th, 11:15 a.m.: Will Thomas Tuchel rely on Thomas Müller again in the offensive against Frankfurt three days before the cracking semi-final against Real Madrid in the Champions League? The Bayern veteran impressed with two goals against Union Berlin last weekend.
Only Jamal Musiala was guaranteed a starting eleven for the game against Eintracht. Since Leroy Sané and Serge Gnabry are expected to be rested for the game against Real, Müller is likely to be used. Together with Mathys Tel, Müller and Musiala could cause a stir behind Harry Kane. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, who started against Union from the start, is likely to be back on the bench for the time being.
First report from April 26th, 5:38 p.m.: Munich – FC Bayern welcomes Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
In itself, the game on matchday 31 would have been a small highlight, as both teams have always fought exciting duels in the past. Just remember Munich’s 5-1 defeat in the first half of the season.
This time, however, the encounter is just “background noise,” as Thomas Tuchel called it on Friday afternoon. The reason: On Tuesday, Munich will face Real Madrid in the semi-finals of the Champions League. It’s clear that instead of the league, where there’s hardly anything at stake for Tuchel’s team, the focus is more on this game.

Bayern line-up against Frankfurt: Tuchel has to find the balancing act
“We don’t need to tell ourselves the fairy tale that we’ll be 100 percent thinking about Frankfurt tomorrow,” said the Bayern coach openly in the press room on Säbener Strasse: “When I get my coffee these days, people don’t say ‘ All the best for tomorrow’, but rather they say ‘All the best for Tuesday’”.
So Tuchel has to manage the balancing act of resting one or two stars for the game against Los Blancos. On the other hand, he also has to keep the tension high. So how does he pitch?
Dayot Upamecano is likely to miss the Eintracht game. The defender sprained his ankle during training on Thursday. The coach also let it be known that Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sané would be rested for Tuesday. “Serge will play on Tuesday – and score too,” said Tuchel with a wink: “Let’s see whether he will start or come in.”

No mercy for Real: Tuchel relies on the recently injured Bayern star
With Sané, who has been suffering from pubic bone inflammation for weeks, it will probably mean that he will get another break against Frankfurt. Things are completely different in the case of Jamal Musiala. The 21-year-old was missing against Union last week due to knee problems.
“Jamal is an absolute key player,” said Tuchel, who also guaranteed his youngster a starting eleven: “He will start tomorrow and play without pain. A big compliment to our support team, he is very important to us.”
Manuel Neuer will most likely be in goal. Joshua Kimmich will defend on the right and the central defender duo should be Matthijs de Ligt and Eric Dier. Tuchel praised the Englishman effusively on Friday during his moody media interview: “Eric is an extremely important piece of the puzzle because, through his personality and his ability to organize loudly, he brings something with him that we may not have had before.”
Alphonso Davies should start at left back, even if Noussair Mazraoui did well in the Champions League against Arsenal.
So the question remains on the offensive: Is Saturday’s game against Eintracht a Müller game? The 34-year-old shone with his brace against Union Berlin on the last matchday. Mathys Tel and Harry Kane should also be in the first eleven again. (smk)
