Frank Gaines: The Basketball Journey of a Globetrotter

Frank Brandon Gaines was born on July 7, 1990 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida/USA and grew up with three siblings in a suburb of Miami. He attended Boyd H. Anderson High School in Lauderdale Lakes, where he averaged 16.7 points and 7.0 rebounds per game as a high school senior. From 2009 to 2013, he played for the Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons (NCAA I) and was selected to the All-Summit League First Team twice.

After his time in college, Gaines declared for the 2013 NBA draft but was not selected. The American began his professional career with the Maine Red Claws in the G-League in the 2013/2014 season. He was named “Most Improved Player” in the G-League.
