“I would have liked to run against Mbappé”: Usain Bolt dreams of seeing the PSG striker in the 100m

Kylian Mbappé is a very fast player. From there to competing with 100m specialists? In any case, this is the wish expressed by Usain Bolt, eight-time gold medalist at the Olympic Games and world record holder for the distance with a time of 9 seconds 58.

This Monday, during the presentation of the Laureus trophies in Madrid, the former Jamaican sprinter revealed his admiration for the Paris Saint-Germain striker. He also confided that he would have liked to race against him during his career.

“I would have liked to compete with Mbappé when I was at my best, to see how close he would have been. He should be able to run the 100m one day, so I can see his time.

Last March, the BBC published a statistic according to which Kylian Mbappé was capable of running the 100m in 10.9 seconds. This had been strongly criticized, since the racing conditions of athletes and those of footballers are not comparable. The latter also never practice sprints over a distance as long as the 100 m.

During the Laureus trophy presentation, Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic was voted Sportsman of the Year for the fifth time, a record. He succeeds Lionel Messi, crowned last year. Among the women, FC Barcelona player Aitana Bonmatí was titled.

The Englishman Jude Bellingham, for his part, received the trophy for revelation of the year. Last year, Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz won this award.
