A member of the franchise for a little over a year, Kyrie Irving was therefore able to cross paths with Dirk Nowitzki on a few occasions. The German always remains close to his frankness, Uncle Drew also showed himself unfiltered about him in front of journalists.
It wasn’t very brilliant, but the Mavericks pocketed an important victory last night against the Hawks (109-95). Luka Doncic showing himself to be very clumsy at shooting despite enormous production, it’s Kyrie Irving who put on the boss’s cap with 31 points and 5 assists at 10/21 shooting. Following the final whistle, the leader was also entitled to congratulations from a certain Dirk Nowitzki behind the scenes:

If the German giant retired from the courts in 2019 after a fantastic career of 21 seasons in the Texan jersey, he never stays very far from his lifelong stable. During his last campaign and even well after, we regularly saw him giving advice to Luka Doncic who is his successor in Dallas.

If you want to ingratiate yourself with Mavericks fans, raving about Dirk Nowitzki is a great way to do that. The respect that Kyrie Irving feels towards him is in any case sincere and is really nice to see.
