Bager has reached the end of his contract in the Black Country and a return to Denmark, where he played for Randers FC, is an option. Charleroi had an option where they could break his contract for 2 years, but that term has expired.
“It smells like an exit, unless the club comes up with other ideas. It is probably a signal that the club first wants to know whether it will still play in the Jupiler Pro League next season,” the defender said.

“I am going into the summer transfer period with the idea that I am open to everything and will listen to everything. I do not have one specific destination where I think I will go, but being free on the market may offer opportunities. The chance that I will find Charleroi leaves is very big,” he stated.
“I don’t rule out a return to Denmark, but another foreign adventure also appeals to me. Maybe even more than returning to Denmark at the age of 27.”
“But I’m not closing Charleroi either. If they still want to sit at the table after the season, I will certainly have a conversation,” he still left the door open.
