Mayagüez. The guard of the Tarzanes of the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) of Mayagüez, Nick Lucena, paralyzed the championship aspirations of the Taínos of the Ana G. Méndez University (UAGM) on Monday night with a two-point bomb with missing 5.5 seconds to close the score 73-71.
In this dramatic way, the Tarzanes of the UPR of Mayagüez provoke a third and decisive match to be held on Wednesday at 7:00 pm at the Mayagüez Recreation and Sports Palace, in the continuation of the Athletic League Sports Festival Interuniversity (LAI).
Effective in the victory were Jeriel Zayas with 22 points, Lucena with 13 points, Carlos Barea contributed 11 points and Ryan Martínez stood out with 10 points.
In a losing cause, the Tainos of the UAGM, Alejandro Noa scored 13 points and Gustavo Colón added 13 points.
