Walking through the halls of the Ball Arena in Denver, the Nuggets player flashed a suspicious grin to photographers, identifying a reference to the loathsome, but beloved character of the film, Gru.

In a press conference following the Denver Nuggets’ 114-103 win over the Los Angeles Lakers, Jokic said he loved the movie: “I love the character and the movie!”
Jokic also appeared in a promotional video for the latest franchise, Despicable Me 4, where he tells a therapist that he is being mistaken for Gru and is being followed by minions. “I’m not your boss!” in the video, Jokic calls out to the minions.
