Novak Djokovic Discusses Longevity, Diet, and Success in Tennis

During post-match press conferences, it is rare to be able to ask a question outside the context of the match except when there are not many journalists in the press room. This was the case last week in Monte Carlo.

Asked about his relationship with food and the work he had done to become a pro in effective dietetics, Novak was kind enough to explain his approach.

« I have devoted over 15 years and a lot of attention to taking care of my body and mind, and it is paying off. At almost 37 years old, I am still capable of being world number one and playing at the highest level. I always had a long term strategic plan in mind to play as long as possible to give my career a better chance of winning more titles, breaking records and doing what I’ve been doing for the last four or last five years. You could say that I had the best part of my career after 30 than before 30 (smile)”
