Poles shined in LKE! Penalties decided about the promotion [WIDEO] It’s for him

Fiorentina and Aston Villa were the first to advance to the Conference League semi-finals. Both teams needed overtime for this. The Italians defeated Viktoria Plzeň 2-0. In turn, the team from Birmingham was saved by Matty Cash. After winning 2-1 in the first match, they lost 0-2 in the rematch. Then the Polish representative scored 1:2 and extended the competition for another half hour. Penalties turned out to be decisive, in which Cash used his eleven, and Aston Villa won 4-3. There was no shortage of emotions in the next two quarterfinals.

Szymański’s assist saved Fenerbahce. By the time…

Another Polish representative – Sebastian Szymañski – showed his great performance. In the match between Fenerbahce and Olympiakos Piraeus, he recorded an assist. He brilliantly spotted Irfan Kahveci coming out on the wing, and he made a beautiful technical shot from the edge of the penalty area to make it 1-0.

Thanks to the goal, the Turks made up for the loss from the first match, in which they lost 2:3. They could have taken the lead even before the break, because Sebastian Szymański fell in the penalty area after a pass by Santiago Hezze. However, the referee looked at the situation on the VAR monitor and ultimately did not award a penalty kick. At the end, Masouras had an opportunity to score for Olympiakos, but he shot straight at Livakovic from close range. After a while, Batshuayi scored on the other side of the pitch, but the referee whistled for offside. After 90 minutes it was still 1-0 and extra time was necessary.

Shortly after it started, Szymański received a yellow card and left the pitch in the 106th minute. He was replaced by Rade Krunić. Dusan Tadic wasted the best opportunity in extra time. He aimed towards the far post, but he didn’t complete the shot and the ball went just wide. In added time, Ntoi received a second yellow card for a foul on Under and Olympiakos finished the match with ten men. The fate of promotion was decided by a penalty shootout. The goalkeepers did great. Tziolakis saved shots from Tadic and Under, and Livaković saved shots from El Arabi and Rodinei. In the last round, the Olympiacos goalkeeper stopped Bonucci and gave his team a 3-2 victory.

Skóraś contributed to promotion in the Conference League. He had his fingers in the goal

Michał Skóraś and Tomasz Kędziora also fought to advance to the semi-finals. Both Poles were in the starting lineup for the rematch between PAOK Thessaloniki and Club Brugge. In the first match in Bruges, the Greeks won 1-0. In Thessaloniki, the roles were reversed. After just over half an hour of play, Kyriani Sabbe launched a counterattack from the right wing and delivered a precise long cross to Ferran Jutgli. The Spaniard beat Dominik Kotarski with a shot from the first ball and the score was 1-0.

Just before the break, Skóraś also showed off. The former Lech winger received a long pass and, after an individual action, deceived the defender, ran into the penalty area and managed to take a shot. The goalkeeper hit the ball in front of him, and Jutgla was waiting there, perfectly positioned. He shot it right at the near post and made it 2-0.

There were no more goals scored in the second half. The referee initially awarded PAOK a penalty in the 60th minute after Eder Balanta’s sharp entry, but changed the decision after VAR analysis. The match ended with a 2-0 win and Club Brugge’s promotion.
