PSG has shown interest in the situations of Jules Koundé and Héctor Fort, players of the FC Barcelona. The French team wants to strengthen its rearguard for the next 2024-25 season and has set its sights on the two Barça players. This is clear from information offered this Tuesday on the ‘Tot Costa’ program on ‘Catalunya Ràdio’.
According to this same source, two weeks ago, there was a meeting between PSG emissaries and representatives of FC Barcelona to talk about the situation of both footballers. The response of the Catalan entity was negative in the case of Héctor Fort and opened the door to negotiating the departure of Koundé.
The truth is that Barça’s technical management has full confidence in Héctor Fort, a player who, when he has played, has always performed on the right lane. Furthermore, his versatility allows him to also occupy the left back. He can even play center back. And it has the added value of knowing the team’s game system and the youth (17 years old).
Koundé, negotiable
Koundé’s case is different. The French defender cost 50 million euros plus another 12.5 depending on variables in 2022, so the amortization of his signing does not reach 50%. Of course, it would improve the team’s fair play somewhat and, given the large presence of players in this area, Barça would be willing to talk if the offer for the player was interesting.
PSG has also explored the possibility of incorporating other FC Barcelona players into its ranks: Frenkie de Jong, Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsí. In any case, in the case of the last two, the quarry players, there are no options for an agreement. In the case of the Dutch midfielder, with five seasons in the team and with a contract until June 2026, his departure should be considered if an interesting offer were presented.
