The Sports Judge Dr. Gerardo Mastrandreaassisted by Stefania Ginesio and the AIA Representative Carlo Moretti, during the meeting of 9 April 2024, took the decisions reported below. The attitude of the fans and on the pitch during the Rome-Lazio derby in the capital was particularly serious with various discriminatory, racist and religiously motivated acts reported in the stands and sent back to the FIGC prosecutor’s office.

DERBY ROMA-LAZIO
Having read the report received from the Federal Prosecutor’s Office; with reference to the chants of racial and religious discrimination, sung by the fans of the Roma and Lazio clubs both before and during the match, reported in detail in the same report of the Federal Prosecutor’s Office starting from 4.44 pm on the day of the match, take on relevance, in terms of size and perception reported by representatives of the same Prosecutor’s Office, the following events occurred during the race:

  • Lazio fan chants (“Central North Curve”) of discrimination racial towards Soc. Roma footballer Lukaku (1st and 28th min. first half and 51st min. second half);
  • Lazio fan choir (“Curva nord – Distinct north west+east”) of discrimination racial (of religious origin) verso opposing fans (35th first half).
  • Rome fan choir (“Central and lateral south curve”) of discrimination racial towards footballer of Soc. Lazio Guendouzi (22nd second half).

For the aforementioned events, which did not involve an audible announcement or interruption of the race, a specific additional investigation by the Federal Prosecutor’s Office is necessary, in any case acquiring a report from those responsible for public order.

MANCINI CASE AND FINAL FIGHT – The Federal Prosecutor’s Office is also invited to report, by way of supplement, regarding any further events that occurred and behaviors of the members at the end of the meeting, in any case, in accordance with the art. 61, paragraph 1, last sentence, CGS, the forwarding of the results of any investigations initiated ex officio, for the purposes of the final evaluations and decisions due to this Sports Judge based on the general competence to decide provided for by the articles. 65, paragraph 1 letter. a), and 61, paragraph 1, CGS, as well as art. 14, paragraph 1, letter. d) and e) CONI CGS, as these are events that occurred during the competition.
