Matías Grande, Javier Rojas and Bruno Martínez, are the goalkeepers who will now seek that team classification and they will have three opportunities to achieve it: first is the continental pre-Olympic that will take place from April 7 to 14 in Medellín, the second option would be the World Cup in Turkey from June 18 to 23 and the last opportunity would be through ranking. world.
Bruno hopes that they will achieve that classification once and for all in the Medellín pre-Olympic.
“The first step will be the continental one that we have now starting April 7 in Medellín, Colombia. The truth is that it is a very strong team and we have been giving very good results, also in training we fit together a lot and we have a very good dynamic, therefore we are going with everything since the three of us are focused on the same objective,” declared Martínez. .
Since 2017, the goalkeeper has been looking for an opportunity to have a place with the senior team and now that he is on the team, the goal now is to be in the next Olympic tournament.
“The first time I was in the national preselection, that is, in the top eight in Mexico, It was in 2017 and since then I have remained in those eight places, but it was not until now that I was finally given the opportunity to enter the national team. Many people have told me how cool that you achieved it in 2024, which is the strong year. I have worked very hard and I have been preparing for this for many years and I think it is time to demonstrate that preparation and enjoy that a dream is already coming true and live the experience,” he said.
Bruno won that place in the national team after passing different internal filters that were carried out at the CNAR. Men’s archery in Mexico only has one individual place that was obtained Matías Grande at the last Pan American Games in Santiago de Chile 2023. Now they will look for the place by team and that would automatically give them the two individual places that they are missing.
