Justin Turner was also on fire for the training of the Queen City. The third baseman started the party for his team in the first inning by hitting a single, which allowed George Springer to cross the plate and open the scoring. The first city then repeated in the second inning with a double, then scored his first long ball of the season in the fifth inning.

Thus, the 39-year-old athlete finished the game with a home run, three hits and four RBIs.

Davis Schneider was the Blue Jays’ other most productive player on offense, stretching his arm once, in addition to producing two runs.

Randy Arozarena and Isaac Paredes each homered for the Rays.

On the mound, Kevin Gausman made his first start of the campaign, and let’s just say he did not disappoint. In 4.1 innings played, number 34 allowed only two hits and made six strikeouts. However, it was Mitch White (1-0) who obtained the victory.

Shawn Armstrong (0-1) took the loss for the Rays. That said, Tyler Alexander spent the most time on the mound for the Florida team, allowing six hits and five runs.

The Blue Jays will return to action on Monday against the Houston Astros.
