Trade balance registers deficit of 2,098 million dollars in March – El Sol de México

Mexico’s trade balance registered a surplus of two thousand 98 million dollars during March, reported the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi).

With this, the trade balance broke a streak of two consecutive months with deficits, a situation that occurs when purchases made abroad exceed sales made abroad.

According to Inegi, for the third month of the year, exports totaled 50,752 million dollars, 5.3 percent less than in the same period of 2023, and of which more than 48 billion dollars were oil.

For their part, imports reached 48,564 million dollars and fell 7.1 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. This item was also driven by non-oil imports, which decreased 3.6 percent annually during March.
