RC Vannes retained the lead in the Pro D2 ranking at the end of the 27th day, thanks to their victory in Montauban (36-26) on Friday. But the Breton club is only one point ahead of Provence-Rugby, clear winner of Mont-de-Marsan on Thursday evening at home (46-22), bonus point to boot. Béziers, third six lengths behind Vannes, confirmed its difficulties on opposing grounds on Friday, losing 27 to 7 at Aurillac (12th).
At the bottom of the standings, Biarritz conceded its seventeenth defeat of the season, this time at home against Grenoble (46-19) which led 29-0 at half-time. The BO, 14th, is still only four points ahead of Montauban (15th), penultimate, and six over Rouen, the red lantern.
